Here at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Odenton, MD, we gather together every Sunday at 10:30AM to receive the gifts of God for us in Word and Sacrament ministry. Each Sunday, we hear the Law of God’s Word which shows us our need for our Savior Jesus. But we also hear the sweet proclamation of the Gospel which gives us forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation. As you enter our sanctuary on Sunday mornings, you will be surprised by what you see. For our congregation isn’t a church full of perfect people. Instead, it is full of sinners who have come to receive God’s means of grace needed to sustain their sin-sick souls. Every week, we gather around Word and Sacrament to lift up our voices in hymnody, confess our sins, hear the words of absolution spoken into our ears, hear God’s Word spoken and preached, lift up our prayers and intercessions, and receive to our lips the true body and blood of Christ which was given and shed for the forgiveness of our sins.
